Planning in Full Force

This week will begin the real wedding planning for the food, flowers, and dresses. I am beginning to get several of the RSVPs in the mail and will make actual cabin assignments as soon as they are all in. If you have yet to return yours please do so soon. It would be great to mark that task off the list.

My parents will be visiting soon to take some engagement photos and to work on the dresses for the girls. We are excited to see them. The girls keep asking about Nana and Papa.

Please feel free to email or call me with any questions, kris.adair@middlebrow.com and 785-840-7989.

A Wedding Registry

We are working on a registry. Joshua feels he should be allowed to register Savings Bonds. In lieu of that I found a nice selection of neat stuff on Amazon.com.

Joshua and Kris Registry

And I did put an item or two on there for the girls. I bet I end up adding more for them soon. They are  just as much a part if this wedding as Joshua and I. Please feel free to get something for them instead of us.

Invitations

Invitations are arriving. If you have accommodations included the price is for the entire cabin. Some are sharing cabins and can split the cost. Those without accommodations are still invited to all aspects of the wedding we were just not able to find room for you on site. Call me and I can help you find a place to stay close to the park, 785-840-7989. You are also not required to stay onsite. Fayetteville is around 30 minutes away and is a major college town. I will update if I find a good deal close.

Preliminary Plans

We have almost worked out cabin assignments. I wish there were more cabins so we could accommodate all but it is a small park. As it is we have 12 of 18 rented so we are pretty well taking over the cabin section of the park.

Invitations are ordered and should arrive in the next week. I am hoping to have them out the door very soon. Please feel free to email, call, Facebook me and ask questions. We are trying to have as intimate of an event as is possible with the large family that I have. Joshua's family makes up a little over a third of the invites so we know it is all the Williams family.

In the coming weeks I will share pictures we have taken at the park and a few more details of the weekend. One thing I can tell you now, it is in the woods. Don't plan to wear a fancy suit or heels. Here is a picture of the shoes I think I might wear:

Getting Married

Joshua and I have decided to get married. We love hiking at Devil's Den State Park in Arkansas on the edge of the Ozark National Forest and October is the best time to be there.

Sunday October 14th is the exact date. But there is an entire weekend of plans. We rented as many cabins as we could but still do not have enough room for all. This weekend event is only for family: parents, siblings, aunts and uncles, cousins and grandparents. Any who are interested may drive out for the ceremony on Sunday. It is a little over two hours from Tulsa but only 45 minutes from Fayetteville. We may try to have a larger celebration later in Lawrence or Tulsa for the rest of our family and friends. We hope you understand.

The location is very special to us as it is a place where we are always at peace.

Friday night the cabins are available and we will serve a light snack before bed. Saturday will bring a big brunch with pastries and sandwiches in your room for snacks. Saturday evening is the big party at the Pavilion. A yummy buffet will showcase some of the amazing foods I have learned to make as well as the talents of a dear friend. Smores will be served after at one of the cabins. Sunday midday is the big event. We have yet to decide where we will hold the actual ceremony but plan on it being a short hike.
